- We strive to maximize the efficiency of resource use and procure materials in a way that preserves ecosystems, thereby contributing to the conservation of the natural environment, including biodiversity.
- We will comply with relevant laws and regulations and respond appropriately to international standards and regulations.
- We aim to be a business that takes the perspective of local residents, and develop through connections with customers, consumers, and the community.
- We will provide systematic education and awareness-raising so that this can lead to concrete actions.
Promotion system
In order to discuss policies and various measures related to environmental conservation activities, we have established a Quality, Environment and Safety Meeting under the President, which determines targets for environmental conservation activities, formulates annual plans, discusses countermeasures, reviews progress, etc. In addition, the Environmental Subcommittee under the Sustainability Committee's Sustainable Procurement and Environment Subcommittee promotes efforts on climate change and environmental issues linked to our sustainability policies and SDGs problem-solving, and disseminates these efforts to the public.
Environmental Audit
We check the status of environmental conservation activities based on the Environmental Conservation Regulations. In addition, all production plants operate environmental management systems based on ISO14001, and conduct environmental audits to ensure their proper operation and sophistication. Each production plant conducts an environmental assessment by investigating and evaluating in advance whether there is any impact on the environment, and implements measures if necessary based on the evaluation results. Based on these environmental audits, we are promoting continuous improvement of our environmental conservation activities.
Management Certification
All of J-Oil Mills' production sites have acquired ISO 14001 (environmental management system) certification. In addition to internal audits, we undergo annual inspections by external auditing organizations to ensure continuous improvement.
