June 2026

This year marks a major milestone for the J-Oil Mills Group: the 200th anniversary of the founding of our predecessor companies. Throughout our history, we have responded to numerous changes in the society  with sincerity and determination. Grounded in our commitment to supply of edible oils—an indispensable ingredient for daily life—we have continued to create food culture that meets the needs of each era. This 200-year journey represents our long history of continuous growth through adaptation to change. 

Today, the business environment surrounding the food industry is becoming increasingly uncertain. In addition to changes in the Japanese market based on the declining population, we face a rise in risks associated with procurement of energy and raw material which derive from such factors as climate change, growing geopolitical tensions, and sharp fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. We are looking to take measures to achieve not only short-term financial results but also long-term growth in order to move forward step-by-step.  

At the same time, we view sustainability initiatives not only as a means of addressing business risks, but also as new business potentials, including development of technological innovation and creation of new market opportunities. We will continue to promote sustainable sourcing while positioning environmental impact reduction and respect for human rights as fundamental principles of our business activities. We will advance these initiatives in alignment with our medium-term business plan and our key materiality issues so that we can strengthen business resilience which is a key to our stable and sustainable growth over the long term.

The value and purpose of the J-Oil Mills Group lie in its ability to reap nature’s potential and support efforts to supply food with reliable quality.
