Reduction Policy

As a company that relies on natural resources for many of its raw materials, we are proactively working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as we recognize the important issues that affect global warming, climate change, and raw material production volumes and crop yields.

Medium- to long-term reduction target

当社グループは自社におけるCO₂排出量（Scope1,2）について「2030年度までに2013年度比で50%削減する」という目標を設定するとともに、「2050年度のカーボンニュートラル実現」を目指し、取り組みを進めています。
また、バリューチェーン全体におけるCO₂排出量（Scope3）についても、容器包装の工夫、サプライヤーエンゲージメントなどを通じた削減を目指しています。

なお、フロン類の使用の合理化および管理の適正化に関する法律に基づき、国内の工場および事業所が保有する冷凍機、エアコンなどのフロン含有機器の自主点検及び定期点検を実施しています。

Starting in fiscal 2022, we have incorporated ESG indicators into the individual performance targets of our executives. One of the ESG indicators we have incorporated is addressing climate change, such as reducing CO₂ emissions. By introducing incentives that link executive compensation with ESG indicators, we will strengthen executives' awareness of climate change countermeasures and promote ESG management.
Additionally, we have introduced the Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) system from April 2023. We will continue to accelerate efforts toward carbon neutrality and actively work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as an important issue that affects global warming, climate change, and raw material production volumes and crop yields.
