The J-Oil Mills Group defines its purpose as going beyond boundaries, conventions, and limits, and working with colleagues to take on challenges and create new value. Human resources, who serve as our connection to society, are central to these objectives. Accordingly, we consider our human resources to be a vital asset and position them with utmost importance in the Company.
In FY2023, we redirected our personnel management from the concept of “managing people” to maximizing individual value creation through "human capital." We are a long-established company with a rich history. It is important for us to continue providing consistent value to society by utilizing the methods that have been passed down through generations. That said, a glance at the current market makes it clear that customer needs are growing more diverse, and companies need to create new value. To do so, change is essential. All officers and employees must embrace challenges and strive for growth, with a focus on physical and mental well-being, workplace safety, and creating an environment where diverse talent can thrive. We believe it is important to put effort into fostering individuals who embody the spirit of challenge and growth, as well as establishing systems and workplace environments that allow strong individuals to actively contribute as a team. We are addressing key priorities as we work to build momentum for pursuing challenges and growth, and drive the transformation of our corporate culture. These priorities are: expanding the capabilities of each individual, strengthening the entire management hierarchy, optimizing personnel placement, and creating an environment that fosters growth.
Making Steady Progress toward Resolving Issues
Every year, the Company conducts an engagement survey. While this survey provides a snapshot of our current situation, we recognize there is still room for improvement. By enhancing engagement, we will encourage individual employees to take on challenges and grow, leading to the realization of our management strategy. To achieve this, the entire management team needs to actively communicate and strengthen its leadership. Improving the quality of information sharing and increasing team involvement will enhance our organizational capabilities. We aim to create a company that encourages and promotes the growth and development of all employees by ensuring that the entire management team lead the way in fostering this culture and all human resource initiatives, such as training, evaluations, promotions, and transfers, are aligned with this culture.
