On March 25th, the first flight within Okinawa Prefecture using domestically produced SAF made from the seeds of inedible plants was conducted on an intra-Okinawa route (JTA flight 565, Naha to Miyakojima). ~ Going forward, we will work to promote locally produced SAF, including expanding cultivation of SAF ingredients and expanding the use of SAF in Okinawa Prefecture ~ (PDF:422.4KB)

TOPPAN, J-Oil Mills, and Corex Shinei have established a recycling system for paper cartons of edible oil. Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is the first city in Japan to start collecting these cartons as recyclable waste.
Used cooking oil cartons can now be collected by the government as recyclable resources if you "use it up, fold it, and put the cap back on" (PDF:422.4KB)
